Driving Thru a Summer Squall...

Summer continues; first day off work in a couple of weeks. With the hot dry temperatures and the passing of an intense string of lightning storms, we Pacific Northwest firefighters have been busy. Have a lot of photos in the can but this recent image really resonated with me.
Entitled 'Summer Squall' this is one of those rare moments in the northern forests within the mountains of northeastern Washington State. A hot summer’s afternoon with an active thunder cell passing overhead. To the west the skies are clear with the late day sun shining brightly. Under the squall a warm summer shower pours down. I know there’s a rainbow in my wake, hidden behind the deep, dark forest of trees. I continue on climbing the foothills leading to Wauconda Summit.
Another short & sweet posting. Working on the 'Lightning Storm' series, the next installment of the 'Summer River' series and images from the RED SUN MONTH. Hope you check back soon...
& remember - don't play with matches...
